Chennai, Nov 7 (IANS) Telugu filmmaker Gunasekhar says his upcoming film "Rudrama Devi" will be the mother-of-all period films.
Telugu actress Anushka, who rose to fame with her appearance in Telugu period-fantasy "Arundhati", will reprise the role of the queen.
"My film will definitely supersede the standards set by all period flicks to date. I've been contemplating this project for quite some time. I couldn't think of a better star than Anushka," Gunasekhar told IANS.
"Rudrama Devi" is the story of one of the prominent ruling queens who belonged to the Kakatiya dynasty. It will be made in a stereoscopic 3D format.
National-award winning art director Thota Tharani is set to work for the film and will recreate a long forgotten period era.
